Welcome
You’ll always receive a warm welcome from Les and his staff on your visit to the Black Horse. This traditional Inn stands proudly at the centre of the picturesque village of Greetham, near Oakham, in Rutland, and is only four miles from Rutland Water.
Some parts of this old building date back to the 16th century and are inhabited by spirits from the past, so it’s believed. The Inn boasts plenty of olde worlde charm with exposed beams and original stonework in our homely bar and dining area. The comfortable, friendly lounge indulges you with a cosy seating area. On those warm summer days you can relax outside with plenty of shaded tables along the front and in the new beer garden, and watch the world go by.
The Black Horse is an excellent venue for dinner parties, birthday and christening celebrations and wedding receptions. We can offer several dining options – from an informal finger buffet to a three course seated meal. Our in-house disco is also available.
For the more sombre occasion we also cater for funeral gatherings, enabling you to celebrate the lives of those who have passed on, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
